A quote that always keeps me on my toes and helps me plan better in life. When it comes to meeting a Goal I like to think of my end goal as a Destination and the path to attain the Goal as a journey. However, goal setting and goal achievement are different things. A majority of people drop their goals in the middle because they have no clear plan or it is too much of an inconvenience to reach a goal. Are Your Goals Worth Your Dedication?       As per an article published on inc, 92% of people fail to achieve their goals. (source) Worse Businesses fail when they do not plan. As per a recent survey, inadequate planning is the first reason for  business failures in Australia. Well! Thats a ridiculously high failure rate. Do you know the reason behind the failure? To start with, most of the goals are set emotionally and not rationally. To give you an example you see your colleague from office buy a luxurious car and you driven by emotions, set a goal to obtain a better car. Now, thats one unrealistic Goal with no clear road map. Secondly, the goals we set are without a clear plan. We the mortals set goals without realising the hard work it requires to reach a goal. The challenges I might face are: Not being able to save enough every month to meet the down payment goal. I have been indiscipline in the past with the small savings goal. I will have to stick to clear, small saving goals to meet the ultimate Goal. Some of my money is invested in the stock market, and though I am expecting a decent return on it to contribute to my down payment goal, the market might fluctuate, and I might not get the returns as expected. I need to plan for any medical expense that is not covered by my insurance as any medical emergency can put a big dent in my pocket and will not help me reach my Goal. Now, set up a road map or plan based on the challenges you might face back-up plans accordingly. Time to set the Strategy:   You have completed all the groundwork. Now, its time to make a step-by-step strategy to execute your plans. For example: In my case, the Strategy revolves around saving enough, keeping a tight leash on my monthly expenses, and moving forward with discipline. By executing these small steps, you get nearer to accomplishing the right steps to reach the Goal: Find out the stepping stones for your purposes. Divide more significant tasks into small manageable actions. Make a routine and allocate different tasks to different times of a day. Write down your strategies with their desired outcomes. Start executing the task and work consistently. Mark the tasks that have been completed. Follow the steps, and you will enjoy your journey. For instance, if you want to be a successful blogger, you can divide the tasks into something like below: Choosing a niche Analysing your competitors sites Designing your site Finding out topics, keywords, and all Content writing and content marketing and so on Track Your Progress:   Measure your performance time-to-time to check your progress. It hopes to spread education to poor students around the world. The university was started in Haiti, after the earthquake destroyed most of the countrys higher education infrastructure. The school set up three computer centers in tents and invited English-speaking students from nearby tent cities to come and work for about four hours a day. They dont have electricity, they dont have computers, there are university students who have to carry water on their head from another mountain, said Shai Reshef, the Israeli entrepreneur who spent $1 million to create the free university two years ago. They come in two shifts, for four hours a day, to study. Their need was to the point that we began a feeding program. Reshef has recruited hundreds of volunteer professors from around the world to teach a 10-week online course to 1,000 poor students from over 100 countries. Reshef even recruited more professors than hed ever need. Students will only have to pay $10 to $50 for admission. The University of the Peoples classes are based on peer learning, and students will get out of it what they put into it. Classes have 20-40 students, and each student is assigned weekly reading materials. Students are then required to post reactionary/commentary responses from the readings online, and they must comment on their peers responses. The school only offers two degrees: one in business administration and the other in computer science. The university is not accredited, meaning students dont actually earn a degree. However, for many poor students, this is their only option for higher education. Other students have used this as a stepping stone to getting into an accredited university. Modern lyric writing makes expressing emotion much more direct, as well. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn from the past. Should you take the SAT or ACT in 2014 One of the most common questions we get here at AJ Tutoring is whether a student should take the ACT in addition to (or instead of) the SAT. Read on for more information to help you make the decision!How do the SAT and ACT differ?ACT questions are generally more straightforwardThe ACT has a science section, which the SAT does not haveThe SAT tests more vocabularyMath on the SAT only includes algebra and geometry, while math on the ACT includes more advanced trigonometryThe SAT is split up into more sectionsThe ACT is a faster-paced testSo, which test should my student take? Its difficult to predict which test is a better fit until students actually take the tests and compare their scores.  Subjectively, most students prefer the ACT because it feels like an easier test.   However, after the scores are scaled, most students get similar scores on both tests.  Some students, though, perform much better on one test and since colleges accept both tests for admission, we always recommend trying both the SAT and ACT!How can my student take a practice ACT test? AJ Tutoring offers free proctored practice tests for current students most Saturday mornings at our Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and San Jose offices.  Students are welcome to take a practice ACT, which we will score and compare to prior PSAT and SAT scores.   If its clear that the students score is much higher on one test than the other, its an easy decision thats the test we should focus on in the spring.  However, if the scores are similar, we recommend preparing for both tests.How do we prepare for the ACT?
